Camp Quiet Hours:
11 PM until 7 AM
(strict, because tents let all sound through and you have neighbors here)
Night guard on duty.
Please refrain from arguing with the night guard. If you are being told to keep it quiet, it is because your conduct is disruptive to other guests at The Eco Camp or Bluegrass Campground.
For the comfort of all of our guests, we do not permit anyone to act in a disruptive manner and will ask them to leave immediately. There are no repeated warnings. Please remember, The Eco Camp follows Leave No Trace.
Our trash setup at The Eco Camp does not support the use of single-use disposable silverware and dishes. If you plan to use single-use, disposable dishes, you need to be aware that the amount of trash generated is likely to exceed the amount of trash we can handle for you. In that case, you need to make plans to pack out your trash.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Eco Camp pays particular attention to providing you a very clean environment. Guests must ensure that they hand back the site in a clean and neat state, as anything else can put our staff at risk. If the site is not cleaned, we charge a cleaning fee of $45/30 minutes.
Each stay at The Eco Camp is completed after a walkthrough with Alex, the owner of the campground.
You and your party or group are responsible for handing over the campsite(s), kitchen area, and restroom(s) in a clean and usable condition. You must report any damage immediately.
Thank you for staying at The Eco Camp & supporting us.
House Rules
Over the years, we have had a few fun (and not-so-fun) interactions with our guests and have learned a few things about the best set of house rules for us here at The Eco Camp. You can imagine the interesting stories that were the reasons for these.
So, we want to share a few very important house rules with you:
Check-In and Check-Out
Our check-in begins after 5 PM and ends at 9 PM, but a later check-in can be arranged. Please communicate with us. You may not arrive early because we are small team and need all the time available to us between checkout that morning and your check-in to get your site and the sites for the other guests ready. If you arrive early, you will have to wait outside the gate until 5 PM, unfortunately.
Check out is at 10 AM, and there is a fee for staying at the site past 10 AM.
We have these rules because when campers arrive, for example, at 11:30 PM at night, and are chatting while moving their equipment to their tent, they inevitably wake up all children, any puppy-dogs, and adults at The Eco Camp. The kids start to cry, the dogs start to bark, and the adults start wondering if they should have stayed home. That’s not a good situation, so please help avoid it.
Noise Levels
All guests at The Eco Camp sleep in canvas tents. Because canvas lets all sound through, we have decided to have very strict quiet hours from 11 PM until 7 AM. Please be a supportive camper and adhere to these quiet hours. We will not come to your site to warn you to calm down, but will ask you to leave immediately, no matter what time at night it is. We have a zero tolerance policy regarding noise. The Eco Camp is not the right place if you intend to be noisy.
Parking
You are authorized to use the on-property roadway from the entry gate to The Eco Camp parking area and from The Eco Camp parking to the exit gate. You are expressly not permitted to drive your car anywhere else on the property, use your car to drive to the restrooms (there is no parking at the restroom, all campers must walk there or use a rented golf cart), or drive anywhere on the property apart from the entry gate to The Eco Camp parking area and from The Eco Camp parking to the exit gate.
In 2021, a guest at The Eco Camp drove their car to the bathroom which is strictly not permitted, while speeding, and almost hit a child walking their dogs and playing. The camp is a pedestrian area, not a car area. Kids here do not watch out for cars, because cars aren’t permitted to drive around. If we see you drive your vehicle outside the authorized area, your entire group will lose on-site parking privileges immediately and will have to figure out a way to park your car off-site. The closest public parking area is 1.3 miles away.
Indecent conduct in public spaces
The Eco Camp has a zero tolerance policy regarding indecent conduct in public spaces (the woods, the shower house, the beach at the pond, etc.). There are children on the property. We will ask you to leave right away.
Good Neighbor Policy The Eco Camp is proud to host people from all over the world, of different faiths or none, with families as wonderful and colorful and diverse as nature. When you come for a stay at The Eco Camp, we ask that you be a good neighbor to the other folks that stay at the camp.
Thank you for your support!
